1990 M5, 1988 535i. The M54B30 is a ripper engine and suits the E39 much better than the M54B25. HOWEVER, there isn't a giantly massively huge difference in that half a litre, so I wouldn't cut 525i's out completely. Set your heart on a 530i and keep an eye out for 525i's I reckon!
